Budget Tamer wasn't built by a team chasing a fintech trend. It was built by one developer who has personally tracked his money every single day for more than 25 years. Budgeting apps weren't a project to him — they were a daily habit, the first thing he opened in the morning and the last thing he checked at night.
Over those decades he lived with every budgeting app out there, and kept a running list: the feature he wished existed, the annoyance he wanted gone, the privacy compromise he refused to keep making. He watched apps get bought, shut down, stuffed with ads, or hold his own data hostage in someone else's cloud.
Budget Tamer is everything he collected over those 25 years, finally built the way he always wanted it: fast, private, owned by you, and answering to no subscription. He built it for himself first — to use every day — and is now sharing it with you.
Years of real-world budgeting, distilled into features that respect your time and your privacy.
Every budget tells you what you can still spend per day for the days left — after the bills still due this period, so a bill never catches you out.
See every recurring bill in one place and your real monthly burn rate at a glance — no more surprise renewals.
Lock the app with your phone's fingerprint, face, or PIN. Checking your budget in public? One tap hides every amount behind •••••.
Turn on rollover and whatever you don't spend carries into the next period. Overspend, and that carries too — so the numbers stay honest.
You're not stuck with our icons. Import and use your own images for categories, accounts, payees, and goals.
Let an AI assistant on your own local network read your budget and add entries for you. Opt-in, token-protected, never the public internet — nothing sent to us.
Track accounts and move money between them with clean transfers.
Split one purchase across categories — a supermarket trip becomes Groceries, Household, and Snacks, so every transaction reflects what you really bought.
Weekly, monthly, yearly, or custom budgets. Cap single categories inside a budget, and step back to see how any past month or week went.
Optional nudges to log today, a heads-up the day before a bill is due, and an alert when a budget hits 80% or 100% — all scheduled on your phone.
On the 1st, open last month in review: what you spent, what you saved, and where it went.
Pick a payee and its usual category fills itself in. Quick add offers your recent categories as one-tap chips.
Long-press the app icon to start a new expense, income or transfer, or put the quick-add widget on your home screen. Automations like Tasker can open a prefilled entry with a budgettamer:// link — nothing is saved until you tap Add.
Already logged that coffee? The app asks before saving the same entry twice on the same day.
Net worth over time, spending trends, income vs. expense, and top payees — charted on your device.
Set goals and watch them fill up as you put money aside.
Keep tabs on money you've lent or borrowed, interest included.
Organize and tag every transaction the way you think about your money.
Log your repeating transactions in a single tap.
Keep a record of the things you own, all in one place.
Never lose a receipt or miss an expiring warranty again.
Attach receipts, invoices, and documents to records and manage them together.
Automatic exchange rates from a public open-source source — only a currency code ever leaves the app.
Use the whole app in English or Thai.
A calm interface that matches your device, plus a true-black theme for OLED screens at night.
Bring your history from another budgeting app or a bank statement — CSV or Excel (.xlsx), with English or Thai column names. Missing categories, accounts and payees are created for you; any row it can't read is skipped and listed.
Back up and restore to a Drive account you control. We never receive or store it.
No Budget Tamer account, no Budget Tamer server, no analytics, no ad networks. Everything you enter is stored privately on your phone. The only thing you ever share is a backup — to a cloud you own, if and when you choose.
Try free for 35 days. Then pay once and own it — that's the whole deal.
Price in US dollars. Google Play shows the price for your country in your own currency.
The download is free and every feature is unlocked for a full 35-day trial. After that, a single one-time payment of $14.99 unlocks the app for good. No subscription, no recurring charge — you pay once and own it.
No. Budget Tamer is a one-time unlock, never a subscription. You won't be billed monthly or yearly, and there are no tiers or per-feature paywalls — the one price unlocks the whole app.
Entirely on your own phone. There's no Budget Tamer account and no Budget Tamer server, so nothing you enter is uploaded to us. If you want a backup, you can save one to a Google Drive account you control — we never receive or store it.
Your data is always yours. After the trial, adding and editing entries needs the one-time unlock, but you can keep viewing everything and exporting it — including to CSV — at any time. Nothing is ever held hostage.
Never. No ads, no analytics, no trackers, no third-party SDKs — in the app or on this website. The absence of tracking is the entire point.
Not yet. Budget Tamer is currently Android-only, available through Google Play.
The AI assistant is optional and off by default. When you opt in, it runs over your own local network and is limited to reading your budget and adding entries — it never edits or deletes, never uses the public internet, and never sends anything to us.
Yes. App lock asks for your phone's fingerprint, face, or PIN when the app opens — it uses your device's own screen lock, so there's no separate password to forget. Privacy mode hides every amount behind dots with one tap, for when someone can see your screen.
English and Thai.
Yes. Import a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file exported from another budgeting app or downloaded from your bank. Common English and Thai column names are matched for you, you can set any column by hand, and you see a preview before anything is saved. Missing categories, accounts, payees and labels are created, matching transfer rows are paired, and Thai bank files with Buddhist-Era years or account details above the column headers work too. Any row that can't be read is skipped and listed, so nothing goes missing silently.
Yes. You can export your data, including to CSV, at any time — during the trial or after it ends. Your data isn't locked in.
